[PILOT] Food For Thought

Objectives

• Gain understanding on how food waste impacts the planet
• Explore solutions to reduce food waste around the world
• Study the food waste on school campus
• Using design thinking to implement solutions to reduce food waste on school campus

Format

• Four sessions. Session duration varies between 1 to 1.5 hours

Target Audience

• Primary and Secondary School (10 to 17 years old)

• Workshop 1

• • Understand the causes and impacts of food waste (Time will need to be allocated outside of Workshop 1 to weigh food waste generated over 5 days. This will be managed by the teacher in charge.)

• Workshop 2
  • Explore how food waste is managed locally and globally

• Workshop 3
  • Develop and implement solutions to tackle food waste in school (Time will need to be allocated outside of Workshop 3 to weigh food waste generated over 5 days after action plans have been implemented. This will be managed by the teacher in charge.)

• Workshop 4 (1.5 – 2 months after Workshop 3)
  • Evaluate and analyse effectiveness of food waste solutions
