SolarBuddy redefines charity through collaboration, not competition. Since 2016, they’ve innovated a self-sustaining model, leveraging partnerships to tackle energy poverty.
Through education and corporate programs, SolarBuddy connects communities, assembling lighting solutions for those in need. Their mission hinges on collaborative efforts for impactful change. Now in partnership with WWF-Singapore, we can progress with energy poverty.

Around Southeast Asia, 45 million* people have no access to electricity, severely limiting their opportunity to learn and thrive. The gift of a solar light can bring hope and opportunity to the life of a child living in energy poverty and help them to reach their full potential.

Allows the child receiving the light to study 78% longer, improving their educational outcomes.
Reduces exposure to toxic and dangerous fumes which has a potential to increase overall health of women and children by up to 60%
Reduces a family’s average weekly expenditure on kerosene by 80%, improving the family’s financial security and safety.
Offsets 1.28 tonnes of CO2 ,the equivalent to growing 21.3 tree seedlings over 10 years with just one light
JuniorBuddy was created at the formation of SolarBuddy. Having seen the issue of energy poverty first hand, SolarBuddy designed the product with children in mind, recognizing them as the next generation to lead and drive change. Seeing the world through the eyes of a child, they realised that children living in energy poverty were missing something that many of us grew up with, a bedside table light. That lamp was the reason our parents could connect with us through bedtime storytelling and the passing on of traditions.
