Akshat Garg is currently the Assistant Vice President, Asia Sustainable Finance, at WWF Singapore. In this role, he focuses on supporting financial institutions in the region to integrate environmental and social considerations into their decision-making processes.
Prior to joining WWF Singapore, Akshat worked closely with the Indian government as an Economic & Policy consultant, actively contributing to the Skill India Mission. One of his key responsibilities was leading the coordination of national-level initiatives for skill mapping. Additionally, he conducted a comprehensive national survey to identify skill gaps within the Indian manufacturing sector. Before joining the Indian government, Akshat managed the Zero Fatality Corridor on the Mumbai Pune Expressway. Through his efforts, the project achieved a significant 43% reduction in fatalities along the corridor, improving safety conditions for commuters. During the pandemic, Akshat organized a national youth response to the second wave of the pandemic in India. This initiative involved the mobilization of 1400 volunteers to address the challenges faced during the crisis.
Akshat holds a Master of Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
