SINGAPORE, 10 MARCH 2025 – WWF-Singapore’s Earth Hour Festival 2025, happening on 22 March at Sentosa Sensoryscape, will celebrate Singapore’s rich natural heritage in celebration of SG60 and empower individuals to contribute to a healthier, more resilient planet.
Themed “The Biggest Hour for Earth,” this year’s festival emphasises the power of collective action, encouraging individuals to take purposeful actions that spark behaviour change and deepen their connection to nature and their community.
Climate and nature are deeply connected—ecosystem loss reduces carbon storage, while rising temperatures intensify environmental stress, making it harder for nature to recover. WWF’s 2024 Living Planet Report revealed that wildlife species populations have declined by 60 per cent over the past 50 years in Asia Pacific. The data helps us understand the health of these habitats and the potential loss of resilience to climate change. At the same time, global temperatures continue to rise with January 2025 recorded as the hottest ever.
The Earth Hour Festival 2025 spotlights the role of people in shaping a greener future. From the choices we make as consumers to the way communities come together for environmental solutions, the festival will demonstrate how everyday decisions—what we buy, how we live, and the causes we support—can drive tangible change
Building on last year’s success, WWF-Singapore is bringing back the Hour Bank—an online tool designed to help individuals discover and take part in environmentally-conscious activities, such as participating in citizen science projects, making more sustainable food choices or even hosting their own environmental initiative.
“Safeguarding our planet for future generations requires action rooted in data, evidence and real-world impact. As a science-practice organisation, WWF works on the ground to protect nature and support the communities that depend on it. Through the Earth Hour Festival, held at Sentosa Sensoryscape, we are excited to share our expertise and demonstrate the real impact of conservation efforts. This SG60, we hope to work together with fellow Singaporeans to take meaningful steps toward a future where both people and nature thrive.” – Vivek Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, WWF-Singapore
At Sentosa Sensoryscape, visitors will be inspired to let their senses wander as they explore the 30,000 square metre oasis that blends nature, design and technology for an immersive multi-sensorial journey, featuring more than 250 species of plants. As the festival’s backdrop, it creates spaces for discovery, conversation, and hands-on experiences that connect people to the natural world.
As with previous years, the Earth Hour Festival 2025 will feature a day of immersive experiences and sustainability-focused activities for all ages. This year’s highlights include exploring the impact of our food choices on the planet, the vital role of nature in building climate resilience, and how WWF-Singapore’s programmes support this by tackling illegal wildlife trade and protecting key ecosystems. Visitors can take part in hands-on activities such as assembling solar lights, exploring sustainable food choices at the “Build Your Own Planet-Friendly Meal” workshop, and creating a World Water Day-inspired piece to bring home.
For the first time, visitors can explore the Sustainable Sentosa booth, which highlights the island’s sustainability initiatives. The booth will feature an interactive 3D installation where participants are invited to pledge their personal commitment to sustainability, with pledges written on repurposed banners, as well as an environmental showcase that brings attention to the interesting flora and fauna of Sentosa and conservation efforts.
The evening will come to life with the Switch Off performance, hosted by Joakim Gomez, starting at 7:30 PM and featuring performances by local performing groups.
The festival will culminate in the symbolic Switch Off at 8:30 PM, as Singapore’s iconic landmarks, businesses, and communities power down in solidarity for the planet. On Sentosa, over 26 businesses will join in by turning off non-essential lights in support of this global movement. Join the movement and be part of this global call to action.

About Earth Hour
Earth Hour is WWF’s flagship global environmental movement. Born in Sydney in 2007, Earth Hour has grown to become one of the world’s largest grassroots movements for the environment, inspiring individuals, communities, businesses and organisations in more than 180 countries and territories to take tangible environmental action for over a decade. Historically, Earth Hour has focused on the climate crisis, but more recently, Earth Hour has strived to also bring the pressing issue of nature loss to the fore. The aim is to create an unstoppable movement for nature, as it did when the world came together to tackle climate change. The movement recognises the role of individuals in creating solutions to the planet’s most pressing environmental challenges and harnesses the collective power of its millions of supporters to drive change.
